Emerging Stars
Empowering today’s promising young doctors to become tomorrow’s leaders in digestive endoscopy.

The WEO Education Committee, under the leadership of Professor Ibrahim Mostafa, Egypt, developed the Emerging Stars Program to give a group of promising young doctors the skills to become leaders in digestive endoscopy, and eventually to form a network of “next generation” expert endoscopists.
The course consists of three modules of intensive face-to-face training over eighteen months. Each module lasts six or seven days and takes place in a different city around the world. During the course, participants are encouraged to enter into multi-center research projects and to develop publication and communication skills.
“This course was a fantastic experience, which exceeded my expectations in every way. The course gives you the tools to work in a challenging environment where you need to combine not only endoscopic skills, but also organizational skills, educational and scientific work and emotional intelligence.”
